Who Am I?
I am just a person who loves her family, her animals, and the peace that sewing brings me. I graduated college and went to work as an archeologist. I worked for 10 years in the world of financial planning. As of 2026, I’m on year 15 of family law practice (though I’ve slowed down and only handle mediations now).
Through all of these career paths I always quilted. My earliest memory of quilting was when I was 8 or so and spending the summer with my grandmother and she set me to officially quilting. We would sit and stitch while listening the classical music.
In 2022, I moved to Molokai, Hawaii, which is a small island that is the complete opposite of the busy lifestyle I was used to living. This is such a beautiful and quiet place. I went back to quilting, sewing clothes, making bags, and just anything that interests me. The pace here is slow and calm and it is amazing. I enjoy life more now and spend all of my days with my wonderful husband, Rosie (the old lady dog), Sophia (the young lady dog), Elizabeth “Lizzy” Surrat (the teenage lady cat), John Wilkes Booth (our sleek panther cat), and Abraham Lincoln (the new cat on the block who may also be my husband’s favorite).
I’m also a founding member of the board of directors for Molokai Community Veterinary Hui (www.molokaivethui.org). There is no veterinarian on the island. So, we helped organize the community to bring veterinarians to us. Check us out!
